Privacy Policy

Sol Suite does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Everything you do in the app stays on your device — or, if you use iCloud Sync, in your own iCloud.

What the app uses on your device

• Microphone — to tune your instrument, analyze sound, detect tempo, record loops and takes, for ear and voice training, and to identify songs. Audio is processed on your device in real time. Your recordings are never uploaded by us. The only exception is Identify, described below.
• Music library — only if you choose to add songs for practice. Songs are read on your device and are not shared.
• Files and recordings — songs you import and loops you record are saved inside the app on your device. You decide if you export or share them.
• Local network and Bluetooth — only for Band Sync between your band’s devices, and for MIDI pedals and controllers you choose to connect.
• Notifications — only for the optional practice reminder, created on your device.

Identify

When you tap Identify, the app uses Apple’s ShazamKit to recognize the song that is playing. Your device turns a few seconds of sound into a short audio signature and sends only that signature to Apple to find a match. The sound itself is not sent, and we receive nothing. Apple’s privacy policy applies to this service.

Band Sync

In Live mode, “Share with Band” and “Join Band” connect the iPhones, iPads and Macs of your band directly to each other over your local network or Bluetooth, with an encrypted connection. The show (song titles, lyrics, parts, your name, role and messages to the band) travels only between those devices. Nothing goes through the internet or to any server. A session code, if you set one, is never sent over the network.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud Sync is on (Settings › iCloud), your bands, tracklists, songs, jam charts, metronome presets, tunings and practice log are kept in sync between your own devices through your personal iCloud account. With the “Songs” switch on, the audio files of songs you imported are stored there too and count toward your iCloud storage. This data is in your private iCloud, protected by your Apple Account. We have no access to it and cannot see it. You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time in the app, and manage or delete the data in your device’s iCloud settings.

What we do not do

• No accounts or sign-in.
• No analytics, advertising, or tracking.
• No connection to our own servers — we do not have any. The app works fully offline; only Identify and iCloud Sync use the internet, through Apple.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or personal information. Apple’s privacy policy applies to these transactions.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch app works the same way: the metronome and tuner run on the watch, and nothing is collected or sent.

Children

Sol Suite does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
